Weight management
A pharmacist-led weight management service with full clinical assessment, ongoing supervision and support at our Welwyn Garden City clinic. Any treatment is considered only after a consultation, and only where our pharmacist judges it appropriate for you.

About the service
Our medical weight management service is led by GPhC-registered pharmacists and built around clinical assessment, suitability and ongoing support. It is not a quick fix: any treatment is decided on a case-by-case basis after a consultation, and only where it is clinically appropriate. The service is available at our Welwyn Garden City clinic.
Treatment approaches
Injectable therapy
A once-weekly injectable medicine can be used as part of a supervised weight management programme, where our pharmacist considers it appropriate. It is administered weekly and used alongside lifestyle support, with your progress monitored over time.
Oral therapy
An oral (tablet) option may suit people who would prefer not to use injections. Taken as tablets as part of a supervised plan, it offers an alternative route where our pharmacist judges it suitable.
Which approach, if any, is right for you is decided by the pharmacist during your consultation, based on your health, history and suitability. Neither option is presented as recommended over the other.
